Key West or bust!

Alex and I went on a quick road trip to Key West (he had never been there before).......so, here is a snapshop of our day (David was sailing with our friends, Rich and Kathrynn, on their 47' Moody today -- a great day for a sail -- apparently they practically made it to Cuba!).

We weren't about to wait in line to have our picture taken with the monument, so here it is -- sans us!

The pretty Key West lighthouse
We explored Hemingway's house:
I had always walked by but had never gone in -- checked that off my list today!

Lots of cool stuff inside!

Beautiful home

Every tourist was wishing they could jump in Hemingway's pool today -- it was hotter than Hades!

Pretty flower

Cats everywhere -- many had extra toes

Hemingway's study -- above the pool
Then we played complete tourists :)  Walked down Duval Street, shopped, and stopped in a bar :)
In another lifetime, I took this same photo -- on a film camera :)

Alex chose our bar based on its air conditioning :)  Irish Kevin's with a Jameson Whiskey chandelier.

The entertainment included a patron who went on stage and allowed a rubber chicken to be taped to his head.  THEN, he walked across Duval Street, did 10 jumping jacks, came back to the bar, high fived everyone in the bar, and finally got tequila and Irish whiskey poured down his gullet.  Good grief.  It was an entertaining experience!

I don't know who Edith is, but she had a spectacular 90th birthday!  Look at this place!
Happy Birthday, Edith!

We walked ALL OVER Key West today -- gorgeous homes, inns, and hotels.
Pretty immaculately kept properties

"When I grow up, I want to have a manatee mailbox," said someone.

Indeed!

Selfie at the beach before we drove home.  A fun time was had by all two of us :)
