We are "interrupting" our sailing adventure for an important task: taking care of these two beauties while our friends go on vacation :)
Saying farewell to Deacon when we moved aboard was a gut-wrenching and tearful day. Other than missing him every single day, I do rest easy knowing that he's having fun in the Miller household.......and quite possibly more fun than he was having at our home since he now has a 24/7 playmate :)
So,
Virginia Dare is on the hard in Tracy's Landing and we are landlubbing it for a couple of weeks. David is making several trips to the boat......cleaning and polishing her hull, adding a coat of bottom paint, sending the propellor out for a thorough servicing, etc. She'll be ready for our next sailing season when we return at the end of the month.

It's a little unnerving to see your home riding through the boat yard in a sling |

Deacon Blues beer from Short's Brewing (tasty!)......yes, we get the Deacon blues. We miss our hound, but are so very appreciative of the fact that he is being very well cared for and loved by Jim, Jack, and Frida back home in Michigan :) |
